The Gilman-Israel Scholarship, a partnership between the Embassy of Israel to the United States and the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Program, is a highly selective award for those studying or interning abroad in Israel. Gilman recipients can also use their Gilman Scholarship funds to pay for credit-bearing virtual study abroad or international internship programs in Israel. The Embassy of Israel to the United States is also providing additional funding for Gilman Scholars to study Hebrew under the Critical Need Language Award (CNLA), which is part of the Gilman application. The Gilman Program will also continue to support the study of Arabic through the CNLA in Israel. This scholarship supports a wider effort between the United States and Israel to increase and diversify international student mobility among Israeli and American higher
education institutions. The award allows students from accredited U.S. higher education institutions to strengthen their skills and expand their educational experiences while living and learning in Israel.
